DMK alliance will win over 200 seats: Stalin
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin has asserted that the DMK-led alliance will win more than 200 seats in the 2026 Assembly elections, expressing strong confidence in the government’s performance and the party’s grassroots strength.
Speaking at Pongal fete in Kolathur, Stalin said the DMK government’s people-centric governance, welfare schemes and inclusive development model have earned widespread support across Tamil Nadu. He said the “Dravidian Model” of governance has ensured social justice, economic growth and protection of state rights, resonating strongly with the people.
Highlighting key achievements, the Chief Minister pointed to initiatives in education, healthcare, women empowerment, infrastructure development and social welfare, stating that these schemes have directly benefited the common man. He added that the government has delivered on its promises despite challenges such as financial constraints and repeated pressure from the Centre.
Stalin also emphasised the unity and strength of the DMK alliance, stating that coordination among alliance partners and strong booth-level organisation would play a decisive role in the upcoming elections. He dismissed opposition criticism, saying the people of Tamil Nadu are capable of distinguishing between “empty rhetoric and proven governance”.
The Chief Minister called upon party cadres to intensify outreach programmes, stay connected with the people and communicate the government’s achievements effectively. He said the 2026 elections would be a mandate for continued development, social justice and federal rights.
