Dhanush celebrates birthday with fans amid political speculation
Actor Dhanush greeted fans gathered outside his residence on Tuesday to celebrate his birthday.
He first acknowledged the crowd from his balcony with folded hands before coming outside to meet supporters personally. The actor interacted with fans, shook hands with several of them and cut a birthday cake amid loud celebrations.
The public appearance comes as speculation continues about a possible political entry following his recent speech at a fan event in Tiruvallur. Although neither Dhanush nor his team has announced any political plans, comments about using fan strength for social welfare and the introduction of a fan club flag have fueled discussion.
On the professional front, Dhanush is set to reunite with director Vetri Maaran for Thamizh Murugan, their fifth collaboration after Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran. The film is based on a story by Arivumathi, with music composed by Sai Abhyankkar. A release date has not yet been announced.
He also has another major project, tentatively titled OM, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The film stars Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela alongside Dhanush and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
