Delhi Police seize cocaine and marijuana, worth more than Rs. 5000 crore in biggest drug bust

The Delhi Police said it has seized more than 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of marijuana — valued at over Rs 5,000 crore in the international market — transported by an international module.

At 9 pm on Tuesday, the Special Cell raided a godown of a publishing house in South Delhi’s Mahipalpur, arrested four men, and seized the consignment.

“The drugs are worth Rs 5,000 crore in the international market,” Additional CP (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha said, adding that they were to be distributed in Delhi-NCR ahead of the festive season.

A narco-terror angle is also being probed, police officers said. “The cocaine came from Southern American countries via the Middle East, while the marijuana came from Thailand. They were then transported from various states to Delhi. A thorough investigation into the routes is underway,” a police officer aware of the matter said.

The main accused, Tushar Goel, is the owner of Tushar Publications and Tulip Publi-cations, said police. A resident of Vasant Vihar, he owned the godown where the drugs were seized, they said. The 40-year-old, in fact, has been on the police radar for the past four months.
