Coolie sets new record, collects over Rs 404 crore in 4 days
Sun Pictures, the production house behind Rajinikanth’s latest blockbuster Coolie, has officially announced that the film has grossed over Rs 404 crore worldwide in its first four days.
The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film, which released on August 14, has shattered box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film in the history of cinema within its opening weekend.
The film, which also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and features special appearances by Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde, has been celebrated by fans as a festival.
Despite clashing with the Bollywood big-budget action flick War 2, Coolie dominated the box office and is on its way to surpassing Rs 200 crore at the domestic box office alone.
While the official announcement from Sun Pictures has created a buzz and sparked debates among fans, there is no denying the immense star power of Rajinikanth and the directorial prowess of Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The film’s massive success reinforces the duo’s ability to deliver a sensational cinematic experience.
