The central government plans to complete the works within 33 months, according to reports.
Meanwhile, CPI (M) Member of Parliament Su Venkatesan from Madurai Lok Sabha Constituency Su Venkatesan has alleged that the construction of Madurai AIIMS has started today as if it were a secret project.
Su Venkatesan MP quipped that the nation will know a new record of 5 years between the foundation stone ceremony and the launch of the project.
“The central government is starting the construction work of AIIMS Madurai just for the Lok Sabha elections, the Madurai MP said. “The Prime Minister, who came to Tamil Nadu thrice to inaugurate many projects, did not inaugurate the Madurai AIIMS? It’s just an election drama being played by the BJP just to deceive people. The Madurai AIIMS project is likely to be shelved after the election,” Su Venkatesan alleged.
Similarly, Tamil Nadu Law Minister S Regupathy also said Madurai AIIMS Hospital construction work has started as Lok Sabha elections are approaching.
