Commercial LPG cylinder price hiked across India

The price of commercial LPG cylinders has been increased across India from April 1, 2026, putting additional financial pressure on businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and small eateries.

The revision applies to 19-kg commercial cylinders, which are widely used in the hospitality sector.

According to reports, the price has gone up by around ₹195–₹218 depending on the city. In Chennai, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has risen to approximately ₹2,246, while other metro cities like Delhi and Kolkata have also witnessed significant increases.

The hike is largely attributed to rising global crude oil prices and supply disruptions linked to ongoing tensions in West Asia. These global factors have directly impacted fuel costs, leading to periodic revisions in LPG prices.

The increase is expected to affect restaurants, tea stalls, and small food vendors the most, as higher fuel costs may lead to increased prices of food items and services. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders, offering some relief to household consumers for now.
