Coimbatore-Bengaluru Vande Bharat service to be launched on December 30
Tamil Nadu is set to get its fourth Vande Bharat Express train that will connect Coimbatore with Bengaluru (Karnataka).
After launching the Coimbatore – Pollachi non-reserved train service, Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan has informed that the Coimbatore–Bengaluru Vande Bharat train service would commence on December 30.
This will be the second Vande Bharat Express between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as one such train travels between Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mysuru.
The train is expected to depart from Coimbatore in the morning and is likely to reach in the evening. However, the train schedule and fare are yet to be officially announced.
Speaking to reporters, L Murugan said “The long-standing demand of the people for non-reserved train service between Coimbatore and Pollachi has been fulfilled by the Central Railway Minister very quickly in a single month. Rs 6,000 crore has been allocated for the railway sector in this year’s budget. Among this, 10 new routes have been allotted in Tamil Nadu.”
