Coal India Limited (CIL) Drives “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” Initiatives through Indigenous Manufacturing of Mining Machines
Coal India Limited (CIL), one of the largest coal producers globally, is leading the charge in promoting indigenous manufacturing under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ missions. At a stakeholders meet on ‘Make in India’ initiatives for mining machinery in Chennai, Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary of the Ministry of Coal, highlighted the pivotal role of the coal industry in driving this campaign.
The event in Chennai saw the participation of esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary of the Ministry of Coal. Stressing the crucial role of the coal industry in supporting indigenous manufacturing and self-sufficiency, Shri Meena emphasized the importance of promoting local production.
In a significant development, three new 190-tonne capacity dumpers manufactured in India for Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) were virtually inaugurated. This initiative aligns with NCL’s commitment to modernizing its fleet and mechanizing mines. Equipped with modern safety features and designed for high efficiency with low fuel consumption, these dumpers will enhance NCL’s production and productivity.
Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, CIL is spearheading the transformation of the coal industry, paving the way for a self-reliant sector and championing the Government’s mission of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’ With a strong focus on sustainable growth and development, CIL is actively reducing dependence on imports and embracing indigenous solutions, setting a remarkable example for other industries to follow in achieving self-sustainability.
