Thiruvannamalai backdrops!“Bun Butter Jam” witnesses Great Reception with Telugu Release Today!

“Bun Butter Jam”, A feel-good Rom-Com, released last July, received a warm reception from audiences, and it has now been dubbed and released in Telugu today.

The film starred Bigg Boss fame Raju Jeyamohan in the lead role, is directed by Raghav Mirdath, and produced by Suresh Subramanian under the banner Rain of Arrows. Suresh had earlier produced Yenni Thuniga, starring Jai. Born in Tiruchirappalli and currently residing in Los Angeles, Suresh has also launched a Hollywood production company and is actively producing films there as well.

Following the great reception for Bun Butter Jam, the producer unveiled his forthcoming plans with the media.

Speaking about it, producer Suresh Subramanian said: “When we screened Bun Butter Jam in the U.S., the response was very encouraging. In my first film Yenni Thuniga, I even played a key role. While scripting Bun Butter Jam, I initially thought of playing the character that Vikranth eventually portrayed. But since the role was quite powerful, I felt it would be better if a well-known actor played it, and I conveyed the same to the director.

Before Bun Butter Jam, we had actually discussed two other scripts, a spiritual thriller set in Tiruvannamalai and another thriller. However, midway we decided to go ahead with Bun Butter Jam. Now, I am once again focusing on those two stories. I also have plans to turn director in the near future.

With Yenni Thuniga, we originally envisioned a different treatment, but director Vetri Selvan made it more commercial. For my next thriller, although there are many such films being made, I want to stand apart by showcasing an unexplored landscape, a location not seen in Tamil cinema before. That’s why we are planning to shoot the film in the U.S. The idea is to cast either a newcomer or a rising actor in the lead, shaping them perfectly to suit my story. I will also be playing a negative role in the film. At the same time, the spiritual thriller set against Tiruvannamalai will feature a well-established hero. We are doing extensive research for this project. Personally, I’ve always loved mythological, epic, science-fiction, and fantasy stories, and today’s audiences are also embracing such genres. Of course, films like Bun Butter Jam are made because love stories are the current trend. In the past, a trend would last a decade, then five years, but now it changes almost every year. That gives us the freedom to confidently make films across genres.

On the Hollywood front, pre-production is underway for a spiritual drama titled Sharkey. It revolves around a young father who suffers from Alzheimer’s and gradually forgets important aspects of his life. Later, when memories resurface in his old age, the story follows how he responds to them. Structured almost like an anthology, it will focus on three characters. I will be playing a prisoner in one of the tracks. I am also planning to direct this film myself, and an official announcement will be made soon.

Today, Bun Butter Jam has released in over 200 theatres in Telugu. The press shows received an excellent response, and the same distribution company that released Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu is handling this film’s Telugu release as well. Very soon, the film will also premiere on OTT platforms across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The date will be announced shortly. For me, cinema is not just a business, I see it as a service to entertain the people.”
