BJP allocates ten seats to PMK

The BJP on Tuesday finalised its alliance with the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) in Tamil Nadu for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Under the terms of the alliance, the PMK has been allocated 10 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu by the BJP.

This decision comes a day after the PMK announced its intention to join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and contest the parliamentary polls in the state.

PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss said at a press briefing, “For the benefit of the country and to ensure the continuation of PM Modi’s governance, we have decided to join forces with the NDA. We believe this decision will bring about the change that the people of Tamil Nadu, who are dissatisfied with the current political scenario, are eagerly anticipating. Our alliance aims for a massive victory not only in Tamil Nadu but across India, paving the way for Prime Minister Modi to secure a third term in office.”

Sources said that the agreement on seat sharing was signed at the residence of Ramadoss in Thailapuram this morning.

Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai said the PMK’s decision to go with the NDA would ensure a massive victory for the alliance with over 400 MPs.
