On the special occasion of International Friendship Day, Colors Tamil, Viacom 18’s Tamil Entertainment Channel, is all set to telecast a couple of specially curated films revolving around this theme on Sunday, August 6. Watch ‘Friendship’ at 5pm and ‘Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma’ at 7:30 pm along with your buddies and reinforce your bonds with each of them.

Don’t miss out on ‘Friendship’ which stars India cricketer Harbhajan Singh who has become a big hit in Tamil Nadu after playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League.

Harbhajan has endeared himself to the locals by actively posting on Social Media in Tamil and speaking about his love for all things Tamil. ‘Friendship’ is even more special as it is Harbhajan Singh’s debut film in Tamil and narrates the story of his friendship with another debutant Losliya Mariyanesan.

Directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya, the movie also stars Arjun Sarja and comedian Satish and has music by DM Udhayakumar. The single titled Superstar Anthem, sung by actor Silambarasan, that is a tribute to Rajnikanth is one of the highlights of the movie. When one of the collegemates of Bhajji becomes a victim of an act of injustice, Bhajji and his friends get into a bitter fight for justice. Will they win their battle?

The film captures life on the college campus beautifully. Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh), a Punjabi boy with lots of love for the Tamil language and the state’s culture, is doing his Mechanical Engineering from a college in Coimbatore. Anitha (Losliya Mariyanesan) is the only girl student in the entire department.

She is the type of person who always finds a way to be happy. You will find her laughing even during classes. She also motivates and encourages others to try and be their best version. But there is a catch: even though she presents a happy persona deep down she is a sad girl.

Anitha is an orphan, who grew up in an orphanage. As if that is not enough, she is diagnosed with cancer. Despite all her travails, she gets along with everyone in the department. She befriends Bhajji and Jeeva (Sathish) and becomes close to them. She constantly motivates them to concentrate on cricket as they both aim to play for India one day. She also involves them in social activities.

They even aid a differently-challenged girl to walk with an innovative idea and become popular in the campus. This stirs envy among others and draws unwanted attention. Suddenly, Anitha passes away under mysterious circumstances. Bhajji and Jeeva don’t leave any stone unturned to know what has led to her death. What triggered Anitha’s death? Will Bhajji and Jeeva solve the mystery behind their friend’s death? The rest of the story revolves around this fight.

The title ‘Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma’ (Do You Know What Friendship Means?) is taken from a dialogue in Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster hit ‘Thalapathi’ (1991).

The film marks the first lead role in movies for television actor Kavin, with Remya Nambeesan playing the heroine. Arunraja Kamaraj and Raju also play pivotal roles for newcomer director Shiva Aravind. The music is composed by Dharan, editing is by Nirmal and cinematography by Yuva. ‘Natpuna Ennanu Theriyuma’ evolves around the relationship of three ambitious friends who go through a rough patch when two of them fall for the same girl.

Shiva (Kavin), Raju (Raju Jeyamohan), and Manikandan (Arunraja Kamaraj) are all born on the same day, live in the same locality, and are childhood friends. They do not take their studies seriously and roam around aimlessly. After wasting many years, they decide to start a business of their own. Their initial struggles are all real, but Mani’s father leaves behind a bit of fortune in the form of a shop in the market area, and that saves the business.

The friends become wedding planning consultants. While Shiva is somewhat serious and gets orders, Raju boozes all the time. Mani, on the other hand, is innocent and kind of clumsy. The three friends also have a competitor in Ramanan (Ilavarasu), a veteran wedding planner in the locality. Now enters Shruti (Remya Nambeesan) in their lives. All three friends fall for her. From there on, their equation changes, and the friendship starts falling apart. However, Shruti reciprocates Shiva’s proposal, though there is a reason for it. Watch the film to know what is this reason?
