Bengaluru Special Court issues summons to Udhayanidhi Stalin in Sanatana Dharma case
Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has been summoned by a Bengaluru court in connection with his ‘Sanatana Dharma’ remarks.
The Special Court of People’s Representatives in Bengaluru summoned the minister on a complaint lodged by a Bengaluru local Paramesh. The court has issued a summons for him to appear in person for the hearing, scheduled for March 4.
Udhayanidhi, who is the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, stoked a controversy last year by comparing Sanatana Dharma to “dengue” and “malaria”.
Speaking at a conference in September 2023, Udhayanidhi Stalin said that Sanatana dharma is against social justice and equality and should be “eradicated”.
Despite facing backlash for his statement, Udhayanidhi Stalin stood his ground, saying that he would oppose Sanatana Dharma forever.
