As India patiently waits to ward off the heat wave and usher the monsoons in, we at Banyan Tree Events are readying ourselves for our annual monsoon music festival Barkha Ritu – a musical celebration with the maestros – showering audiences in 5 Indian cities with the resplendent magic of the Monsoon Ragas.

Barkha Ritu enters the 23rd year this year, and shall feature a host of eminent Indian Classical Musicians presenting renditions of the specialised ragas meant for the monsoons, and not otherwise performed for the rest of the year. The beauty of these ragas lies in the fact that they are specially composed to mirror and evoke the emotions and sentiments associated with the rains – both in the performer and the listener.

Banyan Tree ‘Barkha Ritu’ is dedicated to the presentations of these ragas alone, giving musicians the opportunity to explore the deeper dimensions of these seasonal ragas, and allowing ardent audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in the enchanting music of the rains, during the rains. The festival travels to 5 major cities in India – namely Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Chennai. Through its many previous editions, the festival has truly cemented itself as a celebration of an unique aspect of our music, as also the propagation of India’s rich intangible heritage.

Every year, it has been attended by a committed audience body – inclusive of music connoisseurs, corporate heads, government officials, and media personalities. For yet another year, we are perfectly poised to take you on a melodic journey through the rains / monsoons, commencing July 2024.

Tickets Rs. 500/- onwards are available on www.bookmyshow.com
