Balamurali Nāda Mahotsav 2023

On the day of ĀshāDha ViSākham the 93rd Star Birthday of Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna, Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna Memorial Trust announces this years Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna National Award for Artistic Excellence 2023 with the title of Murali Nāda Lahari and a cash of ₹1 Lakh on the Bharathanatyam Exponent Dr.Padma Subrahmanyam. Dr.B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar – Chairman, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan Coimbatore will bestow the award and deliver his special address.

The award event jointly organised by Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna Memorial Trust and Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan Chennai Kendra will be held on the 93rd birth date from 6pm onwards on 6th July 2023 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Main Hall, Mylapore Chennai.

The event will begin with a tribute group musical to Guruji Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna lead by Kalaimāmani Dr.K.Krishnakumar & Kalaimāmani Binni Krishnakumar.

Balamurali ViSākham Concert series – a concert on the ViSākham star day of every month – the birth star of Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna – will highlight the newer generation of musicians who will perform concerts with Balamurali Kritis and Kritis popularised by the Genius vaggeyakara.
