Atlee dreams of bringing Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi together
Director Atlee has revealed an ambitious dream project involving two of Tamil cinema’s most acclaimed actors, Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi.
Speaking at the success meet for Vijay Sethupathi’s Baththa, Atlee said he has long wanted to direct a film featuring the two actors together.
The filmmaker said he was fascinated by the possibility of seeing the two performers and their distinctive approaches to acting come together in a single project. He expressed hope that such a collaboration could eventually become a reality.
Atlee also spoke about his desire to take on Marudhanayagam, Kamal Haasan’s long-cherished historical project.
The director said he has ideas for various elements that could contribute to the story. He suggested that Vijay Sethupathi could be part of the project and that the film’s narrative should remain the central attraction rather than being built entirely around its stars.
For now, the comments remain an expression of Atlee’s aspirations rather than a confirmation of a new film featuring Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi.
