Arumughaswamy Commission report will be table before Assembly: Stalin
Chief Minister MK Stalin said the report submitted by Justice (retd) A Arumughaswamy’s Commission of Inquiry on the death of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa will soon be tabled before the Assembly.
“There are some issues revealed in the report, which I will not say now. It will be tabled before the Assembly and action will be taken in a transparent manner,” he said while speaking at the marriage function of former minister Pongalur N Palaniswamy’s granddaughter with the son of Bargur MLA D Mathiazhagan in Coimbatore.
Recalling that O Panneerselvam sat before the memorial of Jayalalithaa and sought inquiry, while raising suspicion on her death, following a rift within the party, Stalin said the then chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami announced the forming of the commission of inquiry just for namesake and to convince OPS.
“During polls, we promised a fair probe and action based on the commission’s inquiry report, if DMK comes to power. A few days ago, the report was submitted by Justice Arumughaswamy. It will be tabled in the Assembly along with the report of Justice Aruna Jagadeesan Commission of Inquiry on the 2018 Thoothukudi police firing incident,” he said.
