Amit Shah reaches Chennai to chair southern States’ Chief Ministers’ meet in Kovalam
Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Chennai on Wednesday night to take part in a meeting of chief ministers from southern states and Puducherry. The conference, scheduled for Thursday at Kovalam, will be chaired by Shah.
Shah arrived at Chennai’s old airport from New Delhi at around 9.10 pm. He was welcomed by Tamil Nadu Minister Rajkumar, Tamil Nadu BJP president Nainar Nagenthran, former state BJP president Pon Radhakrishnan, party workers and government officials.
He later travelled by road to a private hotel on the East Coast Road, where the meeting is set to take place. The chief ministers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry are expected to attend.
Security arrangements were strengthened at the airport and along the route to Kovalam, with additional police personnel deployed.
