‘Alagar Yaani’, a film centered on elephants, is being made to appeal to children.

‘Alagar Yaani’ to play the hero of Vijay TV’s fame story

Good times, Mother Aaram, a temple-style ‘Beautiful Elephant’, is being prepared to attract children

‘Azhagaar Yaani’ is a film produced by Sivashankar & Velan under the banner of SV Productions. This is the second film directed by Mangaleswaran, who directed the film Maragathakad. Vijay of TV fame plays the lead role. ‘Kaaduvetti’ Vismiya, Nandini, Aryan, Aadukalam Murugadoss and child stars Karunya and Gokul are playing the lead roles. Apart from them, an 80-foot tall elephant is playing a major role in this film.

Speaking about the film, director Mangaleswaran says, “In today’s environment, many people are losing faith in life. Rather than helping someone with money or medical assistance, it is more important to give them hope mentally. ‘Azhagaar Yaani’ is shaping up to be such a film that gives hope. ‘Azhagaar Yaani’ is about sowing love and hope for everyone, like rain and wind for everyone.

There is a 169-foot-tall elephant statue in Gangaikonda Cholapuram. After Rajendra Chola’s victory, he installed the elephant and named it ‘Azhgar Yaani’. A Chola king had the name ‘Azhgar’ used in the Pandya kingdom. We have named the film ‘Azhgar Yaani’ to instill that kind of hope.

This film is being developed in a way that will appeal to children, focusing on an elephant, like MGR’s Nalla Neram, Rajinikanth’s Annai Or Alayam, and Kamal’s Ram Lakshman. The film will feature children as well as the elephant and Vijay TV’s Phule, who is very popular with children, so this film will definitely appeal to not only children but also all sections of the society. Comedian Aadukalam Murugadoss and villain actor Aryan are playing completely different characters in this film,” he said.

The puja of this film was held recently. ISRO Joint Director SV Sharma, Dr. Nadesh Murthy ISRO, Karnataka DGP K. Ramachandra Rao, Pratap Kumar IAS, Justice Rajiv Gowda, YM Visveswara Raju, Akshay Bhutagire inaugurated the puja.

The shooting will begin soon. Since the story takes place in a village at the foot of the mountains, the shooting will take place in Krishnagiri and Kerala.
