Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi gets UA certificate

Ajith Kumar’s much-awaited film, Vidaamuyarchi, has received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), according to reports.

The film, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, was supposed to release in theatres on January 10 ahead of Pongal holidays. However, the makers announced on January 1 that the film had been postponed due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’.

Now, reports suggest that the last-minute release delays have been sorted out, after which the film was sent to CBFC for certification.

The film is U/A certified without any cuts. A few cuss words have been muted, and the makers have been instructed to add the smoking and drinking disclaimers.

Looking at the censor report, Vidaamuyarchi’s runtime is around two hours and 30 minutes and 46 seconds.

Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai announced that the film is likely to release in theatres on January 23 or January 30.

The film’s production house, Lyca Productions, is yet to announce the certification and the release date. The makers are expected to finalise the release date soon.
