Ajith Kumar wins prestigious Philippe Charriol Award for Gentleman Driver of the Year
In a proud moment for Indian motorsports, actor and racing enthusiast Ajith Kumar was honored with the prestigious ‘Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025’ award by the SRO Motorsports Group at their annual awards ceremony in Venice, Italy.
The award, officially known as the Philippe Charriol Award, is given in memory of the late French entrepreneur and racer and recognizes an outstanding amateur driver who displays exceptional passion and sportsmanship throughout the racing season.
Ajith Kumar, who is also known as a top star in Tamil cinema, was commended for his dedication during his debut season in the GT4 European Series and for promoting the championship to his substantial global fanbase.
The star’s achievement was made even more special by the attendance of his family. His wife, actress Shalini, shared the proud moment on social media, expressing her honour to stand beside her husband as he received the accolade.
This recognition marks a major milestone in the actor’s journey, who recently launched his own team, Ajith Kumar Racing.
