Active cases in India crosses the 10lakh mark
India witnessed an unprecedented surge of 1,45,384 coronavirus cases, the highest since the start of pandemic, as the country’s tally surged to 1,32,05,0926.
Night curfews and restrictions are back in many parts amid concerns over second Covid wave.
Active cases in the country have now passed the 10 lakh-mark. With 32.8 lakh total cases so far, Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state.
This is the fourth consecutive day that India has recorded more than 1 lakh cases in a day. In the last 24 hours, 794 people died; 1,68,436 people have died so far.
Over 6.16 lakh fresh infections have been reported just in the last five days. 3,335 people have died during this period.
