A.R. Rahman pays musical tribute to BSF personnel at Attari border
Oscar-winning composer and singer A.R. Rahman performed at the Attari border on Sunday as part of a special programme dedicated to the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, drawing attention to the service and sacrifices of soldiers guarding India’s frontiers.
The event, titled Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts, was held during the popular retreat ceremony at the Attari border in Punjab. The musical showcase combined patriotic themes with live performances in a gesture of appreciation for BSF personnel stationed across the country.
Rahman’s appearance formed part of a larger initiative associated with the upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, directed by Imtiaz Ali. Members of the film’s team, including the director and actor Vedang Raina, also participated in the programme. Several singers connected to the film’s soundtrack joined the tribute event.
Organisers described the programme as an expression of gratitude towards security personnel who serve in challenging conditions along India’s borders. The event sought to highlight the commitment and dedication of BSF personnel while creating a platform that brought together music, cinema and national service.
Held against the backdrop of the iconic Attari-Wagah border ceremony, the performance attracted significant public attention and added a cultural dimension to the daily retreat proceedings. The tribute featured a blend of music and patriotic sentiment, with organisers emphasising the role of the armed forces and border guards in safeguarding the nation.
