93.80% students pass in TN class 10 board exam

The results of the Tamil Nadu Class 10 SSLC examination were officially declared today.

Conducted from March 28 to April 15, the exams witnessed the participation of 9,13,291 students, out of which 8,17,421 cleared the exams—registering an impressive overall pass percentage of 93.80%.

As in previous years, girls outperformed boys in the results. The pass percentage for girls stood at a remarkable 95.88%, compared to 91.74% for boys. This trend highlights the consistent academic strength shown by female students in the state’s public examinations.

Among school categories, government-aided institutions had a pass percentage of 93.09%, while government schools recorded a slightly lower success rate at 87.34%. Private schools, as expected, continued to post high pass percentages, although specific figures for them were not immediately available.

Sivagangai district led the results with a pass rate of 98.31%, emerging as the top-performing region in the state. Close on its heels were Virudhunagar with 97.45% and Thoothukudi with 96.76%. Other districts that surpassed the 96% mark included Kanyakumari, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Perambalur, and Ariyalur—demonstrating strong academic performances across various regions.

Students can access their individual results on the official websites by entering their registration number and date of birth. The results are also made available via mobile applications and SMS alerts for added convenience.

Students who are dissatisfied with their marks can apply for revaluation or rechecking within the stipulated time. Additionally, arrangements are in place for supplementary exams, offering another opportunity for those who need to improve their scores to qualify.

The Class 10 results serve as a crucial academic milestone for students transitioning into higher secondary education. Officials also confirmed that Class 11 results would be released later today, continuing the wave of anticipation across the education sector in Tamil Nadu.

The state education department lauded students, parents, and teachers for their collective efforts in achieving this year’s results, especially given the evolving curriculum and competitive atmosphere.
