7 students arrested from Coimbatore college for ragging, assaulting junior
As many as seven students from PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore have been arrested for allegedly ragging and assaulting their junior.
The victim, a second-year engineering student at PSG College of Technology, was reportedly subjected to assault by his seniors, during which they also forcibly shaved his head.
A police officer, who spoke to India Today TV, said, “The second-year engineering student was being harassed and blackmailed by the senior students in the last few days. On Monday, they took him to a room where he was assaulted for hours.”
He said, “The seniors used a belt to hit the junior student and there were abrasions on his body.”
The victim filed a complaint, after which police initiated a case, leading to the arrest of seven students from the college. The college management has assured its full cooperation with any legal actions in the matter.
