TVK’s suburban sweep: Ghilli Sarath captures DMK bastion Tambaram
Ghilli Sarath (D. Sarathkumar) of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has successfully captured the Tambaram constituency.
The latest data from the Election Commission confirms that the TVK candidate secured a total of 65,941 votes, effectively ending the DMK’s long-standing hold on this key seat. Sarath won by a decisive margin of 17,063 votes over his closest rival, R.S. Kiruthika Devi of the DMK, who finished with 48,878 votes.
The victory in this high-profile urban constituency is being seen as a major milestone for the TVK, as it managed to overturn a solid 2021 DMK majority.
