“The Bed” Movie Review
Movie Review: The Bed (2025)
The Bed (2025) is an intense Tamil drama that brings together an interesting ensemble cast led by Srikanth, John Vijay, Black Pandi, Srushti Dange, and several supporting actors. Rather than relying on surface-level shock value, the film attempts to explore human emotions, secrets, and moral conflicts through a symbolic narrative.
The story begins with Srikanth and his friends on a weekend trip to Ooty. The sudden mysterious disappearance of the precious creature Dange, who accompanied them, turns the trip in an unexpected direction. The very next day someone from the group of friends goes missing and several layers of mysteries are revealed one by one in an attempt to find them. The film is a journey to unravel these mysteries.
Srikanth, beyond his usual hero image, has delivered a credible performance in a character full of emotions. Srishty Dange is at the centre of the story with beauty and sheer charisma, and draws unique attention to the screen.
John Vijay has used his experience in the role of a cop perfectly to bring out the natural performance of Black Pandi, Veejay Pappu and Vikram as friends. The supporting cast, including Divya and Devi Priya, have also contributed to their characters to a great extent.
The background score reinforces the thriller atmosphere, as the song featuring Tajnoor’s music stands out in the mind. Cinematographer Gokul has added beautiful visuals to the story by showcasing new locations apart from the usual touristy scenes of Ooty.
Written and directed by S. Manibharathi has tried to balance both the genres of romance and suspense thriller. Even though there are some minor flaws, they don’t affect the overall experience of the film much.
At the end: A fashionably told love-thriller without the vulgarity. A must-see experience for suspense lovers.
