Background:
Featuring Sofia Ashraf, the rapper of Kodaikanal Won’t fame, and G. Logan, who has written over 100 songs including “Nikkal, Nikkal” in Kaala, “காத்த வர விடு: Let Chennai Breathe” was inspired by the story of a North Chennai Kabaddi coach who rued how the region’s air pollution is hurting children’s stamina. The song is made to convey that clean air is a fundamental right, along with clean water, healthy food and leisure a necessary prerequisite for a healthy life.  Air pollution harms the lungs and compromises one’s stamina. It robs children of their right to play and to a healthy and happy childhood.
Kaatha Vara Vidu’s director Rathindran R. Prasad has also directed the viral music videos Kodaikanal Won’t and Chennai Poromboke Paadal. His first feature film — “Ithu Vethalam Sollum Kathai” — is set to be released shortly, while another premiering Aishwarya Rajesh is underway for Karthik Subbaraj Production. Music is by ofRo, who along with tamil rapper Arivu made the acclaimed album Therukural. Sandeep K. Vijay is director of photography. The cast comprises real-life kabaddi players and kabaddi coaches from the fishing villages of Ennore.
