The film’s story revolves around Jaya Nigam, who was the captain of the Indian kabaddi team in 2010. Though a stellar player, Jaya gives up on her career after she gets married to take care of her son and husband. However, she still dreams about playing kabaddi and often kicks her husband while in deep slumber.
Soon Jaya starts getting suffocated in her monotonous life and yearns to return to the field. Encouraged by her husband and son, she gears up to make her comeback at the age of 32, when most players are planning their retirement. How Jaya makes a place for herself in the Indian Kabaddi team and shuts up her detractors forms the rest of the plot.
Kangana Ranaut is seen in a never-seen-before avatar and she is killing it as a middle class mother. Her angst and frustration look genuine and she has managed to impress us again with her performance.
