Sai Pallavi reveals the prayerful mindset behind playing Sita in ‘Ramayana’

Actress Sai Pallavi has opened up about her spiritual approach to portraying Maa Sita in the upcoming epic film Ramayana, saying she wanted to approach the role with faith rather than relying entirely on her usual creative process.

Pallavi shared her thoughts during an appearance on the television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. She appeared alongside co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Ravi Dubey to discuss their experiences of working on the highly anticipated project.

Welcoming the actors, Bachchan expressed his excitement about the film and said he was eager to hear about their experiences. He then asked the trio what went through their minds when they were first offered their respective characters.

Responding to the question, Pallavi explained that she usually considers what she can contribute to a character. However, playing Sita led her to think differently, prompting her to reflect on what she could learn from the character herself.

She said she wanted to remain open to the experience without allowing preconceived ideas to shape her interpretation. Rather than overthinking the role, she chose to approach it with humility and prayer.

Pallavi described her intention as allowing herself to become a transparent medium through which she could portray Sita, asking for the opportunity to embody the character with sincerity.

Her response impressed Bachchan, who praised her perspective and described it as a thoughtful observation.

Ramayana has attracted considerable attention for its ambitious scale and its portrayal of figures from the Indian epic. Pallavi’s comments offer a glimpse into the personal approach she is taking towards one of its most revered characters.
