PM Modi reaffirms India’s support for Seychelles
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the National Assembly of Seychelles during the country’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, reaffirming India’s commitment to being a dependable partner in the island nation’s development.
He highlighted the long-standing historical ties between the two countries, noting that their relationship extends well beyond formal diplomatic relations established 50 years ago.
Calling the Indian Ocean a bridge rather than a barrier, Modi emphasized cooperation in maritime security, the blue economy, climate action, renewable energy, digital innovation and sustainable development.
He also announced India’s willingness to share expertise in Digital Public Infrastructure to support Seychelles’ digital transformation and praised educational exchanges between the two nations.
The Prime Minister concluded by assuring Seychelles of India’s continued friendship and partnership in the years ahead.
