“Madraskaran” Movie Review
This film offers an interesting take on marriage and relationships, reminiscent of Visu’s classic style. The core premise revolves around a bride and groom meeting hours before their wedding, but fate intervenes in an unexpected way, setting the stage for an intriguing series of events. A freak accident causes the couple to come together earlier than planned, which paves the way for unexpected twists in the narrative.
The first half of the film moves at a comfortable pace, introducing the characters and their world with familiar reactions that feel relatable. However, the second half is where the story gains momentum, adding a suspenseful angle that keeps viewers engaged. While certain sequences feel a bit stretched, the engaging plotline manages to sustain interest till the end.
The performances are a mixed bag, but a few actors stand out. Kalaiyarasan delivers an impressive and lively performance, adding much-needed energy to the film. Shane Nigam fits his role well, though he leaves room for more depth. Aishwarya Dutta deserves appreciation for her realistic portrayal in a deglamorized role, which lends authenticity to her character. Niharika’s graceful dance moves in a remixed song add charm, although her overall performance lacks the same impact.
While the title doesn’t seem directly connected to the film’s main storyline, it doesn’t take away from the overall experience. The film succeeds in exploring an engaging concept, offering moments of suspense and light-hearted drama. Though it occasionally leans on predictable twists, it remains a commendable effort that brings fresh ideas to a familiar theme.
