JSM Pictures’ A.R. Jaffer Sadiq produces ‘Mangai’ directed by Gubenthiran Kamatchi with ‘Kayal’ Anandi in lead role

Vetri Maaran, Ameer and Vijay Sethupathi release the first look of ‘Mangai’, a film that speaks high about femininity

‘Mangai’, a movie produced by A.R. Jaffer Sadiq on JSM Pictures banner and directed by Gubenthiran Kamatchi with ‘Kayal’ Anandi playing the lead role is a film about the pride of womanhood.

The first look of the film was released by directors Vetri Maaran, Ameer and actor Vijay Sethupathi.

A.R. Jaffer Sadiq is also producing on JSM Pictures banner ‘Iraivan Miga Periyavan’ (story by Vetri Maaran and Thangam) directed by Ameer with Azhar and Mydeen in key characters and Vasanth Ravi-starrer ‘Indira’.

While the first look of ‘Iraivan Miga Periyavan’ was recently released on the occasion of A.R. Jaffer Sadiq’s birthday and garnered a lot of attention, the first look of ‘Mangai’ is now out. It reflects the theme of the film and piques the interest of the fans.

Talking about ‘Mangai’, director Gubenthiran Kamatchi said, “Mangai is a film based on the journey of a woman, in which Anandi plays the lead character. Dushi, Rams, Adithya Kathir and others are playing important roles.

Dushi, who played an important character in Sasikumar’s ‘Easan’, is the son of Jayaprakash, a veteran producer and popular character actor in Tamil and Telugu films.

‘Mangai’ talks about a man’s view of a woman and narrates the experiences a woman encounters on a journey. The film has been shot in Munnar, Pooparai in Kerala, Theni, Cumbum, Kudalur, Lower Camp and Chennai in Tamil Nadu.”

Gubenthiran Kamatchi, who worked with popular filmmakers as co-director and dialogue writer in many Tamil and Telugu movies, further said, “‘Mangai’ has taken shape very well.  I am confident each and every scene will keep the audience engaging.”

While the first look of ‘Kayal’ Anandi starrer ‘Mangai’, produced by A.R. Jaffer Sadiq on JSM Pictures and directed by Gubenthiran Kamatchi has been released, the film’s crew is planning to release the music in February and the movie in March.
