Jailer 2 gets a new Rajinikanth mass anthem with One Name
Sun Pictures has released another song from Rajinikanth’s much-awaited Jailer 2, adding to the buzz around the sequel.
Titled One Name, the track opens with the humming “Sera Se Cosera”, a musical portion that was also heard in the recently released glimpse of the film.
The song is designed as a high-energy introduction to Rajinikanth’s character, Muthuvel Pandian. Its lyrics include the line “One name to rule the game”, playing on the star’s enduring screen image.
Anirudh has composed the song and also contributes vocals. The track features several other singers, including Yogisekar, Jagadeesh Kumar, Balraj, Sridhar Sena, Shenbagaraj and Govind Prasad. Super Subu has written the lyrics.
The lyric video also incorporates a section from Hukum, the popular track from the first Jailer film released in 2023. Behind-the-scenes footage from Jailer 2 is featured as well, including shots of Rajinikanth’s character in blood-stained clothes.
The sequel brings back several actors from the original, including Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq, Vinayakan and Mirnaa.
The new additions reportedly include Vijay Sethupathi, S J Suryah, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim and Jatin Sarna.
Mohanlal is also reportedly expected to reprise his role as the underworld figure from the first film. There have additionally been reports linking Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Mithun Chakraborty to the project, though those reports concern casting that has been reported rather than confirmed here.
The technical crew includes editor R Nirmal, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, art director DRK Kiran, costume designers Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez, and stunt choreographer Chethan D’Souza. Jailer 2 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 15.
