India reiterates support for Palestine’s UN membership

India has once again expressed its support for Palestine’s bid to become a full member of the United Nations while reaffirming its commitment to a peaceful two-state solution involving Israel and Palestine.

The position was presented by External Affairs Ministry Secretary Sripriya Ranganathan during the Palestine Donor Group ministerial meeting held in Brussels.

India reiterated that it continues to support an outcome where Israel and Palestine coexist peacefully within internationally recognised borders. The country also highlighted its long-standing partnership with the Palestinian people through development assistance, humanitarian aid and capacity-building initiatives.

Indian assistance has primarily focused on healthcare, education, vocational training, women’s empowerment and institutional development. During the meeting, India also announced additional projects aimed at rehabilitation, healthcare, education and skill development in Palestine.
