Amit Shah meets President Droupadi Murmu amid speculation of Cabinet changes

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, a development that has attracted attention amid reports of a possible reshuffle of the Union Council of Ministers.

The President’s office confirmed the meeting through a social media post. The interaction follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent meeting with the President earlier in the week, further fuelling speculation about potential changes in the Union government.

Recent developments have intensified such discussions. BJP leader George Kurian, who served as Minister of State for Minority Affairs and also handled responsibilities related to Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, stepped down after the completion of his Rajya Sabha tenure. The party did not nominate him for another term.

Similarly, Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh lost his Rajya Sabha membership after his term ended in June and has not been renominated.

Political observers have also noted that some Union ministers have recently been assigned significant organisational responsibilities within the BJP in their respective states. These appointments have contributed to ongoing speculation that the central cabinet could see changes in the near future.
