Yogi Babu goes to Bollywood

Yogi Babu, who has emerged the top comedian of Tamil cinema, is set to step into Bollywood. That too, he will play an important role in Aamir Khan’s next venture named Lal Singh Chaddha.

In the movie which also has Vijay Sethupathi in a key character, the Kolamaavu Kokila and Jombie actor will do a fun-filled role, it is learnt.

Yogi Babu has said in an interview that he is talks to play a role in Aamir Khan’s Hindi film and is working out the dates to see if he can manage to be a part of the film.

The film was announced on the sidelines of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) in which Vijay Sethupathi also won the best actor award for his performance in Super Deluxe directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja.

Aamir Khan is remaking Tom Hanks’ classic Hollywood film Forrest Gump in Hindi with the title Lal Singh Chadha.

Vijay Sethupathi has been approached to play Aamir Khan’s friend in Lal Singh Chadha. In the original, Mykelti Williamson played Bubba, Tom Hanks’s friend in the army camp. Later, Tom Hanks gives a share of profit from his Shrimp business to Bubba’s mother in the film.

According to reports, Vijay Sethupathi is likely to play Bubba’s role in Lal Singh Chadha. It is said that in the remake, Bubba’s character is a Tamilian so they want Vijay Sethupathi to play the particular character.

The original movie was released in 1994 and starred Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise and Mykelti Williamson. It is also speculated that the crew has modified the screenplay to have Mykelti Williamson character as a Tamil person, and that role will be played by Vijay Sethupathi.
