World Vision India In Association with Sun Foundation Inaugurates and hands over three renovated schools and Public Health Center
* 3 schools and PHC were renovated under project ‘Education for Life’
World Vision India, one of the country’s largest child-focused humanitarian organizations in association with Sun Foundation, inaugurated and handed-over three renovated schools and Public health center under the project ‘Education for Life in Thiruvarur and Nagappatinam districts of Tamil Nadu. XX [Government officials] and Mr. Madhav Bellamkonda, National Director & CEO, World Vision India were present at the inauguration.
The three schools that were renovated are Government Higher Secondary school, Panchayat Union Elementary school and Thirukuvalai Middle school in Kattur benefitting more than 200 students. Children studying in these schools come from most vulnerable families. The new infrastructure facilities aims at increasing the interest of children to continue their education.
3 Digital classrooms have been installed in Thirukuvalai middle school and Kattur Primary & High school. These digital classrooms impart training to teachers and learning can be made more engaging and interactive between the students and teachers. Apart from complete renovation of the schools, hand wash and drinking water stations have been installed in schools and awareness on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene is also being imparted at the schools.
Madhav Bellamkonda, National Director & CEO, World Vision India said, “School sanitation and hygiene education, is globally recognized as a key intervention to promote children’s right to health and clean environment and this project ‘Education for Life’ aims to influence a generational change in health promotion behavior and attitudes of children. The project aims at imparting education and providing a conducive learning environment encouraging children to continue their education and will continue looking at such associations to uplift vulnerable communities. The project will help benefit more than 200 children from vulnerable communities and plans to reach out to XX number of more children with similar child focused projects.”
