Weather department: Low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal unlikely to intensify

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a low-pressure area currently located over the Bay of Bengal is not expected to strengthen into a cyclone. The weather system, which formed earlier this week, is being closely monitored by authorities, but forecasts suggest it will not lead to severe weather events in the near future.

According to the IMD, the low-pressure area is moving westward, but its intensity is expected to remain weak. The department also reassured the public that the system is unlikely to cause significant rainfall or stormy conditions in the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, or other neighboring states. However, local areas may experience light to moderate rainfall due to the presence of the weather system.

The IMD continues to monitor the situation and has advised fishermen and coastal residents to remain cautious, particularly in case of sudden weather changes. The department also emphasized that while the low-pressure system is not likely to intensify, regular updates will be provided to ensure preparedness.
