Amma Kanakku, the comeback movie of Amala Paul, is all set to release on June 17. The female centric movie is a remake of critically acclaimed Nil Battey Sanatta (Hindi).
Ashwini Iyer, who made the original Hindi version, has also directed the remake, which has veteran actress Revathi and National award winning Samuthirakani in important roles.
Amala Paul is playing the mother of a teenage girl (14-year-old) in Amma Kanakku, a film produced by Dhanush. Directed by Ashwini Iyer, the movie has music by maestro Ilayaraja.

Amma Kanakku also has Samuthirakani and veteran actress Revathy in important roles. Shooting for the film was wrapped up few weeks back and soon, the makers will be announcing the release plans.
Meanwhile, Amala Paul is making her debut in Kannada, with a film opposite Sudeep. She will play a MBBS student in the movie titled Hebbuli. A romantic drama, it will be directed by Krishna.
“I liked my characterization in this film and I agreed to work on the film. I have been getting offers from the Kannada industry for quite some time now. I thought that this film would be an apt script for my debut in Kannada,” she said.
