Vishnu Vishal, who is riding high on a success wave thanks to his recent venture Ratsasan, today said that he and his wife Rajini are separated.
In a statement, he said, “Dear friends and well-wishers, I wish to inform you all that Rajini and I have been separated for over a year and now legally divorced.”
He said further: “We have a beautiful son and our top priority will always be to co-parent our kid and give him the best. We have spent some wonderful years together and we will alwas remain as good friends and respect each other.”
“In the best interest of our kid and our families we request you all to respect our privacy. Regards, Vishnu Vishal,” he concluded.
In a recent interview, Vishnu Vishal, who turned producer for his film Kathanayagan, revealed that he was forced to become one.
He revealed, “I was not getting paid for many films, but I was still working without a lot of botheration. Many producers used that. One such producer told me that I would fail if I touch commercial films. I wanted to change that notion, that’s why I acted in Velainu Vandha Vellaikaran.”
The film was supposed to be made by someone else but Vishnu ended up bankrolling the project. “The same thing happened with Kathanayagan. To put it bluntly, I never liked to become a producer but the situation made me one,” he said.
Superstar Rajinikanth has appreciated the recently-released mystery-thriller Ratsasan starring Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul in the lead.
Announcing the news on Twitter, an excited Vishnu Vishal wrote, “When the one and only superstar @rajinikanth surprises you with a phone call, you jump in joy. Some of the words he used: ‘Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic’. ‘You acted very well. You looked very fit in khaki. Who’s the villain? His body language was super. Nice director-actor combo.’
