Vikram shoots in Chennai for Cobra, to shift base to Europe & Russia

After a successful schedule in Kolkata, the team of Vikram-starrer Cobra is currently shooting in China. Once this schedule is completed, the team will head to Europe and Russia to shoot some important scenes.

The action thriller directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Imaikaa Nodigal fame is likely to hit the screens on May 21 for the Ramzan weekend.

Produced by Lalit’s 7 Screen Studios and Viacom 18, Vikram is said to be playing a dual role with multiple looks in the film which also has Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame, Mrinalini Ravi and cricketer Irfan Pathan in pivotal characters.

Meanwhile, the first look of ‘Cobra’ is expected to be released this month as director Ajay Gnanamuthu has assured fans via his Twitter account in a post last week.

Recently, Shane Nigam was replaced by Malayalam actor Sarjano Khalid, who acted with Mohan Lal in the Malayalam film ‘Big Brother’. The shooting of ‘Cobra’ is currently taking place in Chennai, and the team is planning to shoot their upcoming schedule in Europe and Russia.

Ajay, in an interview said, “The protagonist’s character and cobra has a link. If I reveal anything more now, it will give away too many details. Also, since the film is made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, I wanted a title that works in all languages. Hence, we zeroed in on Cobra.”

On Christmas, the makers of Cobra announced the film’s title with a motion poster. The motion poster has two cobra snakes and a king’s crown as well.
