Vikram daughter’s engagement ring stolen

Vikram’s daughter Akshita lost her diamond ring worth Rs 12 lakh when she visited an ice cream parlour on the Khader Nawas Khan Road in Chennai on Tuesday.

Akshita who who got engaged to DMK president M Karunanidhi’s great grandson Manu Ranjith recently has filed a complaint that her engagement diamond ring has been stolen.

In her complaint, she said that when she came out of a popular ice cream outlet the ring was missing from her hand. A case was registered on Tuesday night and the police have started probe.

They collected the CCTV footage from the parlour and verified it. Further investigations were on.

The engagement ceremony took place at a star hotel in Chennai and the event was graced by several bigwigs from the film and political worlds. Even though the wedding date was not revealed, it is learnt that the marriage is set to take place next year.

The groom to-be is Manu Ranganathan, son of C K Ranganthan, the big boss of FMCG conglomerate CavinKare. Manu is the brain behind CK’s Bakery.

According to sources, the couple have been in a relationship for a while and are finally set to exchange wedding vows with the consent of their parents. The families are currently busy finalizing a hotel where the wedding will take place.
