One of the most successful combos in Kollywood is back. After delivering blockbuster hits Thuppakki and Kaththi, actor Vijay and director AR Muragadoss are back with yet another project.
The makers have revealed the title and first look of the film. The film has been titled Sarkar and the first look features Vijay lighting a cigarette, which has not gone down well with anti-smoking activists including PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss.
“Here is the First Look of Thalapathy Vijay’s SARKAR.#Thalapathy62isSARKAR@actorvijay @ARMurugadoss @arrahman,” producers Sun Pictures tweeeted, ahead of the actor’s birthday today. The second and third looks were also released subsequently.
Donning ‘cool-as cat’ shades, and smoking a cigarette, the first look poster features Vijay in a very stylish avatar. Going by the name of the movie, Murugadoss seems to have written a story that fits Vijay’s persona and fan following.
The poster elegantly merges Vijay against a sea of skyscrapers. Looking at the title and the classy, sleek style of the poster, it is likely that the film will definitely have several socially relevant themes.
The poster shows the crew of the film, with music composer A R Rahman, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, and film editor Sreekar Prasad among others. The working title of the film was ‘Thalapathy62’.
Meanwhile, Vijay has decided not to celebrate his birthday today, in view of the recent firing in Thoothukudi against anti-Sterlite protesters during which 13 persons were killed.
