Vijay’s Jana Nayagan crosses ₹300 crore at the global box-office

Chief Minister C. Jopseph Vijay’s final film before entering full-time politics, Jana Nayagan, has crossed the ₹300-crore mark in worldwide theatrical collections, achieving the milestone less than two weeks after its release.

The film’s producers announced the achievement through a promotional poster, while independent box office trackers also reported that the film had entered the ₹300-crore club.

Despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from several critics and sections of the audience, Jana Nayagan has continued to attract moviegoers across domestic and overseas markets.

Industry observers attribute much of the film’s commercial success to Vijay’s popularity and the emotional significance attached to what has been promoted as his final acting project before dedicating himself to politics.

The latest collection places Jana Nayagan among the highest-grossing films of Vijay’s career. It joins a select group of his films that have crossed the ₹300-crore milestone worldwide.

Trade analysts expect the film’s earnings to continue growing in the coming days. If the momentum is sustained, it could emerge as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films released in 2026.
