Vijay’s gesture to Vijay Sethupathi

The latest piece of information about Vijay’s upcoming film being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is that the ‘thalapathy’ has advised the film’s team to first shoot all the scenes of Vijay Sethupathi, the movie’s protagonist.

Vijay has suggested this since Vijay Sethupathi has multiple films in several languages in the pipeline, and is also rumoured to be signing a few more soon. According to reports, Vijay told his team that as he is only concentrating on one film at a time, and they can shoot his portions and combination scenes once Sethupathi gives bulk dates.

In the last few years, Vijay has started shooting his new films only after the release of his ongoing project. But for a change, the actor moved on to his next film, fondly called by fans as Thalapathy 64, with Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame — even before the release of his massively scaled sports drama Bigil.

What has made Thalapathy 64 bigger than what it actually was is the latest addition of Vijay Sethupathi, who will be essaying the role of the antagonist in the film. Though there were confusions at first with respect to the Vikram Vedha actor adjusting his dates, an official announcement was made by the team recently.

Malavika Mohanan, who played a brief role in Rajinikanth’s Petta, has been brought on board the project, replacing the Bollywood damsel Kiara Advani. Thalapathy 64 will be shot at many locations across Chennai and Allahabad.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has reportedly hiked his pay to Rs 1.5 crore to play baddy opposite Allu Arjun in his upcoming film with Sukumar which was launched recently.

“Vijay Sethupathi is demanding a fancy remuneration riding on his growing popularity in Telugu and producers don’t mind paying Rs 1.5 crore. Since the head-on clash between Bunny and Vijay will be the USP of the film but Vijay is yet to sign on the dotted line,” a source, close to the unit, was quoted as saying by The Hans India.
