Babu Sivan, who directed Vijay’s action film Vettaikaran in 2009, is no more. The filmmaker had also worked as a writer on the star’s Kuruvi, and was part of the story discussion team of his Bairavaa.
The director had been undergoing treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi govt hospital in Chennai.
Babu Sivan had reportedly fallen unconscious before two days and was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi govt hospital and passed away today. The director is said to have passed away due to liver failure.
According to reports, the director’s two daughters were taking up NEET exam on Sunday and his wife accompanied them. When they returned home, they found him unconscious and rushed him to a hospital.
Unfortunately, since the hospital was a COVID centre, his admission was denied and he was taken to another private hospital, where he was getting treated. But since his family could not afford the hospital bills, they shifted him to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.
This comes days after the death of Vadivelu Balaji. This another loss of talent in Kollywood has made fans and stars to offer condolences. It is said that Babu Sivan did not test positive for Covid-19. Babu Sivan was 54, and is survived by his wife and two daughters.
