Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he said the ban on notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination is a good move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but it could have had a better impact if it was planned well.

“I certainly welcome Prime Minister Modi’s decision. The goal is bigger but the government could’ve done proper precautionary measures to avoid the sufferings of daily wagers.

News about a senior citizen committed suicide as  she could not conduct the wedding of her granddaughter with the old currency and a newborn baby lost its life because the parents couldn’t buy medicines hurts me a lot”, he said.

“When the intentions are big, there are bound to be some hassles. The hassles shouldn’t grown bigger that the intentions of the move. I feel some things could have been avoided. Some general public couldn’t eat and buy medicines.

I felt that certain sections of the people, like the ones who make their living by earning 500 or 1000 a day, theatres, small shop traders and malls suffer for no mistake of theirs,” he added.
