Vijay to contest 2026 elections alone: Prashant Kishor

Political strategist Prashant Kishor has confirmed that actor-turned-politician Vijay will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections independently, without forming an alliance with any party.

On February 2, 2024, Vijay launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), with a focus on contesting the 2026 state elections. Over the past year, he has actively built his party’s structure, appointing district-level administrators and engaging in grassroots political work.

Prashant Kishor, who has been advising Vijay on his political strategies, recently met him in Chennai for discussions. He also participated in TVK’s second-anniversary celebrations.

In an interview with a private news channel, Prashant Kishor made significant revelations about Vijay’s political plans:

“Vijay is determined to bring a change in Tamil Nadu, and I will support him in every way possible. He has assured me that he will assist in the Bihar elections, where he has a strong fan base.”

“Vijay has decided to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections alone.”

“AIADMK is interested in forming an alliance with TVK, but Vijay is not willing to align with them. Vijay will win the required number of seats to form a government on his own.”

As Tamil Nadu gears up for the 2026 elections, Vijay’s independent political debut will be closely watched by political observers and the public alike.
