Vijay sings Verithanam song in Bigil

Vijay, whose favourite hobby and passion is singing, has lent his voice for a song titled Verithanam in his upcoming Bigil directed by Atlee.

“Music maestro A R Rahman came up with a pulsating tune and Vijay has sung it. The lyrics were penned by Vivek. The song was released recently and it has come out well,” sources say.

Generally, songs crooned by Vijay have always become chartbusters so there is huge expectations for the Verithanam track.

United India Exporters and X Gen Studio have jointly acquired the overseas rights of Bigil for Rs 30 crore.
According to reports, this is a record price for a Vijay starrer. Among all the Tamil films, this is the second biggest bet after 2.0.

Screen Scene is said to have snapped the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights for a record price and soon, the makers will be issuing an official announcement.

Bigil is expected to release for Deepavali 2019. The last two Deepavalis have also belonged to Vijay, with Mersal and Sarkar setting the box-office on fire. The film has music by AR Rahman and has been produced by AGS Entertainment.

Bigil will mark his third collaboration with friend and director Atlee, after two consecutive hits in Theri (2016) and Mersal (2017).

A local term meaning ‘whistle’, Bigil is a direct reference to the whistle used during a football match. The film is a sporting drama in which Vijay coaches and mentors a women’s football team.
