Vijay Sethupathi’s role in Aamir Khan’s film revealed

Vijay Sethupathi will play the role of Aamir Khan’s friend in his Bollywood debut titled as Lal Singh Chaddha.

The film with Aamir Khan was announced a week before, on the sidelines of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) in which Sethupathi also won the best actor award for his performance in Super Deluxe directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja.

Aamir Khan is remaking Tom Hanks’ classic Hollywood film Forrest Gump in Hindi with the title Lal Singh Chadha.

Vijay Sethupathi has been approached to play Aamir Khan’s friend in Lal Singh Chadha. In the original, Mykelti Williamson played Bubba, Tom Hanks’s friend in the army camp. Later, Tom Hanks gives a share of profit from his Shrimp business to Bubba’s mother in the film.

According to reports, Vijay Sethupathi is likely to play Bubba’s role in Lal Singh Chadha. It is said that in the remake, Bubba’s character is a Tamilian so they want Vijay Sethupathi to play the particular character.

The original movie was released in 1994 and starred Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise and Mykelti Williamson. It is also speculated that the crew has modified the screenplay to have Mykelti Williamson character as a Tamil person, and that role will be played by Vijay Sethupathi.

Vijay Sethupathi has a lot of Tamil films in the pipeline including Sanga Thamizhan, Kadaisi Vivasayi, Laabam, and Maamanithan.
